Re-inspiring

28 May 2018 by Matt Grier

Sunday, 27th May was a fantastic day on the water for the Foundation. We had Rachel Morris MBE who has competed in sailing at international level but more recently a Paralympic medallist in hand cycling at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rowing in 2016. Rachel sailed with the foundation 10years ago and has so much enthusiasm to help create these opportunities for individuals. We also had with us Jenna Snedker who in October 2017 won silver in the European Para Youth Games who had never sailed a boat this size or with a spinnaker.

Matt Grier and Tom Metcalf took out the Sonar ‘Dolphin’ with the aim to re-inspire the sailors and introduce them back into keelboat sailing/racing in Cowes plus building confidence in themselves and the equipment by retaining a nice friendly relaxed environment with friends.

Creating the environment where the best can be got from an individual allowing them to see they have potential from training/ racing & the other benefits of participating in a sport.

Thanks to the foundation supporters, CCYC and Jolliffes Chandlery for their support in changing lives.

We are looking forward to having them back down again in the near future and creating a training environment fit for all. If others would like the opportunity also then feel free to get in touch via info@acfsailing.org
