ACF Sailing - Update 17th March 2019

17 Mar 2019 by Matt Grier

The weekend was so close to happening with a great bit of community support from Cowes Yacht Haven helping us out whilst the dredging program is progressing at the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club. But sadly after the big weather system affecting parts of the country, some of our sailors travel plans would have been affected, thus we decided to be sensible and abandoned another sailing weekend.

Not all lost though with one of our coaches Steve Palmer putting on a morning session for a couple of our local able sailors completely who are new to racing to help get them up to speed on the racing rules of sailing, covering the basics in part two, plus always nice to meet new sailors even if not on the water.

Steve is a double above knee amputee, but that hasn’t stopped him training to become a Racing Coach and passing on his knowledge to help others progress in the sport whether able or disabled.

Hoping for better weather soon so we can put it all into practise on the water.

Lots of plans for this summer both on the weekends and during the week. If your keen to get involved then do get in touch with the team via info@acfsailing.org or via the contact page on our app/website www.acfsailing.org to find out more.

Kind regards,

The ACF Team
