Dear Sailors, Supporters and Volunteers,

This is a quick message to update you on the sailing season ahead and let you know our thoughts on sailing alongside those of the Cowes Clubs and Classes Association’s (CCCA).

We are very lucky to be involved with our local community through the CCCA which brings us all together to share our thoughts and advice enabling as much to happen as possible.

Our aims have always been to create as many sailing opportunities as we can and a lot of this is in the summer and completed through club style racing opportunities and giving experiences to improve your sailing skills.

Thus the same challenges we have that the CCCA have, and we are all excited that sailing has opened back up to be an acceptable form of exercise but it can currently only be done with those in the same house hold due to the nature of the small keelboats we use and not being able to keep 2 metres apart.

But we like to keep a positive mind towards the future and thus as soon as we can we will be back on the water. Also racing would normally end in September but is looking to be potentially extended to October.

On this note in summary is the official ‘CCCA Racing in 2020 – Notice to Competitors and Race Officers – Update 20-5-2020’ attached that states, racing will not commence before the 4th July and that a further update will come out mid June.

We will keep you updated the best we can and look forward to getting back on the water as soon as possible, in the mean time over June we will be prepping and cleaning our boats ready to go sailing along with our current normal being on the phone for those who need it.

Please remember like the majority of sailing community which stop sailing in the winter months we do not and sail all year, but as soon as back out will be focusing on bring more opportunities to as many as we can, including many trial sails or those wishing to try sailing maybe for the first time. Including any other locally activity that happens.

Please do contact us here or via info@acfsailing.com if you’d like more information on how you can get out sailing with us as we are aloud.

Yours sincerely,

The ACF Sailing Team
