Dear Supporters, the Andrew Cassell Foundation is holding a prize raffle to help raise funds that have been lost due to the COVID 19 outbreak and following lockdown period. The Raffle is to be drawn on the Saturday 19th September at Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club (CCYC) at 1800 and will be streamed on Facebook live, due to Covid 19 restrictions.

The Andrew Cassell Foundation supports individuals with physical disabilities, mental health conditions or long-term illness to take part in yacht racing and cruising, it encourages the integration of sailors with disabilities alongside more able-bodied sailors. Much of an individual’s ability to deal with the serious, personal, and lifelong challenges caused by their condition is centred around personal confidence. The Foundation helps to restore confidence lost through three primary interactions – adventure, socialisation, and achievements. Sailing in keelboats and yachts provides the ideal environment for these to occur. Lasting impact is achieved through coach mentoring within an expert supportive culture over many years.

With the current COVID 19 pandemic sadly the foundation has not been able to provide these sail training and sail racing events and the support it should to the people that benefit the most. To that end the foundation hope that holding a prize raffle can help bring much needed funds in this time of uncertainty. With the aim of being able to pick up from where the foundation was pre lockdown.

There is a £150 cash prize to be won along with, a Spinlock life jacket, £30 gift vouchers from a range of stores in Cowes, A family cleaning pack from Serenity Hygiene worth over £100, A food hamper, Two pizzas and a bottle of wine from Coast, some local art work, a bottle Mermaid Gin and many more prizes to won. With tickets costing £1 for 1 or £5 for a book of 5.

Tickets can be purchased in 2 ways:
a. From the CCYC bar and office for cash or,
b. By following the PayPal Giving Fund route below. Card payments can be made via PayPal if you don’t have a PayPal account.

Tickets cost £1 for per ticket or £5 for a book of 5 tickets; please follow this link to purchase https://www.paypal.com/gb/fundraiser/charity/3134705 (ends at the start of the Raffle)

By doing this method the Andrew Cassell Foundation has access to Gift Aid which gives the foundation additional funds from the government. It is a remarkably simple way of paying for the tickets or just donating to the foundation.

2. Enter the amount ie £1 for one ticket or £5 for a book of tickets or the number of tickets you wish to purchase

4. Now follow the instructions within the PayPal website
5. There with be option for you to select Gift Aid if you qualify, if you could please do that it would great, but this is totally up to you.
6. All done

If you are donating (buying a ticket) via PayPal, you will be contacted by our Raffle host and organiser Steven Palmer who will send you a picture of your tickets and confirm the number of tickets that you have purchased, so if you are not local to the Isle of Wight you can still join in.

Any prizes won, the Andrew Cassell Foundation will contract the winner via their contact details from PayPal or personal contact. Any unclaimed prizes will be held for one calendar month, then will be deemed as unclaimed and become available for the next raffle.
