Dear Members,

We are extremely grateful for the support for this day, it is a great opportunity for us to showcase the foundation to the Island disabled community which will be 190 guests registered with the Royal Victoria Yacht Club on their yearly disabled open day event.

They run a fantastic day, which is very detailed and well supported which will have all sorts from yachts, powerboats and all sorts of sailing craft in general, all run by volunteers.

We will support the event with 2x Sonar’s.

The day will consist of;
1030 – 1130 – prep Sonar’s @CCYC and crane in (Boats Dolphin and Spare Part).
1130 approx – Depart from Cowes
Lunch while sailing around.
1230 – 1700 – Arriving at RVYC giving intro rides to a range of disabled people.
1700 – return to the CCYC and crane out.

We currently have confirmed help as follows –
Skipper (Boat – Spare Part) and lead sailing coach – Steven Palmer
Skipper (Boat – Dolphin) and RVYC day contact – David Smith
Additional Sailors – Mark Brownjohn, Ed Suckling, Bryony Young.

We still need help from volunteers please in the following roles;
- 1 more sailor (crew member)
- 2 volunteers or more for the shore (Can choose to sail around or drive to the venue) – to help catch boats when coming on and off the dock and give general guidance.

- RIB (TBC – not needed but considering for a tow to and from if light airs).
- There will be club patrol boats on standby if any problems on the day.

If you would like to volunteer for any role please RSVP to the event.
If you would like to volunteer for a specific role, please RSVP and write in the comments where you would like to help out.

Additional – we will hold a meeting prior to this with as many of the volunteers we can muster up – date and time TBC.

Kind regards,

ACF Sailing Team
