Update – change of name to;
- ‘ACF Sonar Mini Training Event’ – from ‘ACF Spring Training / Racing 6’
As many of you know, we have been aiming to turn this weekend into a mini regatta and its now looking promising, This is thanks to the number of RSVP’s. This will be a great weekend to talk about the summer and other opportunities and also have fun races all off of the front of Cowes with no pressure, other than an good laugh between boats and in them.
Aim is to kick off the season and have a little fun.
Provisional scheduled for the weekend is;
Saturday;
- Racing between 1100 -1430 – as many races as we can until individuals have had enough ( e.g. cold or tired)
- Possible evening meal being planned 1800 – TBC Island Sailing Club if available
Sunday
- Racing between 1030 – 1400 – Racing as like previous day.
- Prize Giving – 1500/asap after @ Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club
Currently we have enough individuals to fill 3 sonars and also Comm’s to the ISC to fill 2-3 more. We are aiming to encourage others to come and play also
ACF Sailors – This will be as per a normal sailing session terms so the original info as per the info below.

ACF Spring Training / Racing in Sonar’s – Come and join us for some fun winter sailing and get ready for the 2020 summer season.
Starting on from 25th January and carrying on every other weekend. Places are limited and open to all abilities.
Saturday – Training Day – focused on a variety of areas weather dependent.
Sunday – Coached racing – fun homemade racing aimed at developing sailor skills.
Attendance
- You don’t have to attend both days but are missing out if not.
- Those attending the training will get a priority place on the Sunday racing.
- We will always try and accommodate as many individuals as possible along with help and resources we have. If blown off on the day we will endeavour to put on some theory sessions.

This is the first weekend of 6 (every other weekend) – see the events section in our app for further dates.

- Timings are sent out during the week via the comments (you will need the app on your phone to receive alerts) – An update is normally sent on the Wednesday evening prior for the best possible weather forecast.
Activity fees are;
- £35 per person per day.
or
- £60 for the whole weekend. (saving £10 per weekend).
(Activity fees will be increase by £5 during the week before).
If over sold or cancelled for reasons related to ACF – full refunds will be given (this does not include the weather but we would always to our best to reschedule a weekend first).
